Welcome to
Grade 1

Grade 1 marks a thrilling milestone — the beginning of “big school” and a child's formal journey into reading and writing.

It's a time of rapid growth, tender confidence-building, and endless possibilities.

In this section, you’ll discover how our resource series can be supported by Life Skill themes for seamless integration. Our resources support the development of early literacy skills through engaging themes, playful practice, and purposeful instruction.

Seven Tales To Save the World

Family & Friends Theme

All books in this series can be use as a support tool for the theme Family and Friends. Our characters are young, like our readers, so family and friends are a constant feature.

Keeping Places Clean Theme

Prickles, Pamoja, Tuna and Rex can all be used to support the theme Keeping Places Clean as these stories focus on pollution and ways to reduce it.

Safety at Home Theme

Pamoja and Maseko can be used to support the theme Safety at home. These tales link to possible dangers at home like smoke inhalation and how it might feel to have your home destroyed, see Maseko.

Water Theme

Tiziri, Tuna, Winter (ice) all cover the Water theme in some way. Tiziri

Manners Theme

Tiziri tale showcases this theme very well, by being extra polite to all her new friends.

Water Theme

Tuna is a fish in the ocean, and Winter is a tale discussing ice melt. Both these books can be used as support tools for the Water theme.

Night Sky Theme

Tiziri  will support the theme of Night Sky well as it teaches about nocturnal nature of some habits, and noise and light pollution.

Plants & plant life cycle Theme

Maseko's tale showcases this theme well as it is all about plants, soils and deforestation.

Weather Theme

Winter is a tale set in the frozen parts of our world, however with a name like Winter, it would be silly to miss this opportunity to discuss seasons and weather.
